St Wilfrid's Hospice
St Wilfrid’s Hospice has been looking after people with cancer and Motor Neurone Disease in this part of West Sussex since 1987. Now the Hospice offers care to people with other terminal illnesses as well.
For us, it is of the highest importance that each patient is treated as a special individual, and we try to meet their needs for spiritual and emotional care, as well as their physical needs. At any one time, we care for over 230 people in our community and offer support to their families and friends.
Our doctors and nurses are specialists in palliative care and our excellent facilities provide 15 single in-patient rooms and a purpose-built day centre, where this care is professionally and compassionately given. Home care and bereavement services are also available and our education department aims to ensure that all those in our community caring for the terminally ill have the benefit of our expertise.
The tireless efforts of our medical and nursing teams to ease the pain and discomfort of life-threatening disease is underpinned by tempting food, clean and fresh surroundings and a beautiful garden. Our army of volunteers help in many and varied ways.
Hospice care is free to all patients and admissions are determined by medical need only. It costs over £3.9 million to keep St Wilfrid’s doors open and your entry and/or sponsorship will help us to meet that target. We are most grateful for your support.
